Daniel 9:24-27

24“Seventy weeks are determined
For your people and for your holy city,
To finish the transgression,
[f]To make an end of sins,
To make reconciliation for iniquity,
To bring in everlasting righteousness,
To seal up vision and prophecy,
And to anoint the Most Holy.

25 “Know therefore and understand,
That from the going forth of the command
To restore and build Jerusalem
Until Messiah the Prince,
There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks;
The street shall be built again, and the wall,
Even in troublesome times.

26 “And after the sixty-two weeks
Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself;
And the people of the prince who is to come
Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.
The end of it shall be with a flood,
And till the end of the war desolations are determined.
27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week
He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,
Even until the consummation, which is determined,
Is poured out on the desolate.”

Here in these 3 verses we read that while Daniel wss in prays and supplication for Gods people and city, because of what was revealed to Daniel in the later part if the previous chapter. Gabriel came to tell him because of his supplication. He came to tell Daniel so that he would know and understand that what is determined for his people.

He starts off in verse 24 of chapter 9 decreeing that from the

Seventy weeks are determined for his people and his holy city to finish the transgression, also to make an end of sins and make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness,
Also to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy.

Thats a big mouthfull if we look at it like this.

A determination has been made for 70 weeks for Daniels people and thier city and what they are to do within this determined time of 70 weeks.

Its like if we were to say to someone, I give you 7 days, until this time next week to pay the utility bill, to moe the front lawn, wash and dry and fold the laundry, wash yourself and put clean clothes on, and to make dinner.

Verse 25 is like stating when the start of the 70 weeks begins, eg, if we say your time dtarts now, or when both the karge and small hand are on 12, or when you hear the siren ( same as in a football game )

Their siren to let them know when their 70 weeks started was when the decree was signed to restore and rebuild Jerusalem.

In Ezra and Nehemiah and other place’s we learn that under Cyrus the Persian king the command was sent to restore and rebilled Jerusalem in 457 BC / BCE.

If this is not a historical fact you are aware of, i suggest you go research this in your own historical research so that you can research the facts for yourself,

Bible sources shows the king of Persia was so very extremely gracious and generous in providing extreme generous gifts in abundance to go towards restoring and rebuilding Jerusalem.

Since we know from these verses of scripture what is expected of them to do over the 70 week period starting at the decree to  and rebuild jerusalem and all the ither things.

Were they really expected to complete all these things within 70 weeks / 490 days.

In John 2:20 it is mentioned that it took them 46 years to build the temple, well in excess overtime to restore / rebuild in 70 weeks if it were a literal 490 days.

But with over whelming evidence and people believing the 70 week / 490 day period represents a day for a year thing. Where it is referring in Bible prophecy that a prophecy day represents a literal year. meaning they have a 490 years to get all these things done and completed.

If that were true, then that 490 years later after the Cyrus decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem in 457 BC / BCE would bring us to the year 34 AD / CE.

The research in history of time and year record keeping and observations would show that there was no year 0. That 1 BC / BCE was immediately followed by 1 AD /CE.

This is something you can also research in your history of time in your history records.

What happened in 34 AD / CE ? Variety of diverse sources show that in this particular year Stephen was stoned to death while Saul looked on in approval, and Saul got letters to go to Damascus, and on his way had an encounter which blinded him, and in that same year he regained his sight and started preaching a new doctrine of salvation through someone by the name of Yahshua the Anointed one who died on the roman cross who takes away the sins of the world upon himself. Saul then became known as Paul.

All this happened in late 34 AD / CE.

If these events takes place at 457 BC / BCE and 34 AD / CE.

Then we can further look at thenevents between, such as why the 70 weeks were divided into 3 distinctive time blocks within thev70 weeks, and what events were to take place within each of the distinctive 3 different time blocks.
