State Of The Dead

Where Are The Dead ?

A lot of people seem to think when you die you either go directly to heaven or hell, depending on weather you are good or not, others thing that you go to a middle ground, called purgatory by the Catholics, a sort of limbo neither heaven nor hell, others think that once you die you are nothing more than worm food and fertiliser. Well a lot of dedicated so called Christians hole heartedly believe such nonsense as this and other variations of the alike, however the closest one to the truth strange as it may sound is the worm food and fertiliser theory.
Lets see what it says in the bible about the dead.

Psalm 13:3
look on me and answer, o lord my god, give light to my eyes or I will sleep in death.

Psalm 146:3 – 4
do not put your trust in princes, in mortal men who can not save. When their spirit departs, they return to the ground, on that very day their plans come to nothing.

1 Thessalonians 4:15
according to the lords own words, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.

1 Thessalonians 4:16 – 17
for the lord himself will come down from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of the archangle and with the trumpet call of god, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the lord in the air. And so we will be with the lord forever.

John 11:11 – 13
after he had said this, he went on to tell them, our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I am going there to waker him up. His disciples replied, lord, if he sleeps, he will get better. Jesus had been speaking of his death, but his disciples thought natural sleep. So then he told them plainly, Lazarus is dead.

Acts 7:59 – 60
while they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, lord Jesus, receive my spirit, then he fell on his knees and cried out, lord, do not hold this sin against them. When he had said this he fell asleep.

Psalm 115:17
it is not the dead who praise the lord, those who go down to silence.

Psalm 6:5
No one remembers you when he is dead, who praises you from the grave ?

Ecclesiastes 9:4 – 6
anyone who is among the living has hope – even a live dog is better off than a dead lion. For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing, they have no further reward, and even the memory of them is forgotten. Their love, their hate and their jealousy have long since vanished, never again will they have a part in anything that happens under the sun.

guess that verse just eliminated all them so called spirit world people who claim to contact and talk to the dead.

Ecclesiastes 9:10
Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the grave where you are going, there is neither work nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.

Ecclesiastes 3:19 – 20
man’s fate is like that of the animal’s, the same fate awaits them both, as one dies, so does the other. All have the same breath, man has no advantage over the animal. Everything is meaningless. All go to the same place. All come from dust, and to dust all return.

Genesis 2:7
the lord god formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

Ecclesiastes 12:7
and the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to god who gave it.

The human body was a fully functioning being, but there was no life in the body, a lifeless entity, as soon as the body was given the ability to breath it became a living being, it came to life.

When Jesus was on the cross and said
Luke 23:46
Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit”. When he had said this he breathed his last.

Then his body was lifeless, just like when we die, our spirit leaves these bodies and the body becomes lifeless, known as dead.

Acts 2:34
For David did not ascend into heaven, and yet he said:- the lord said to my lord, sit at my right hand.

Psalm 17:15
and I – in righteousness I will see face when I wake and I will be satisfied with seeing your likeness.
