Sacred Intimacy Marriage – A sacred institution ordained by God – A most important union highly valued and undefiled and blessed by God – An expression of Gods love and devotion to you. A living example of Gods union with humanity.
God has created things by His authority, out of love and devotion to You.
So what does God have in common with the old english band from 1988 the Proclaimers with their song “I’m Gonna Be” which shows the length and extent and devotion one man has to the one they love and adore so much they are prepared to walk 500 miles twice, a thousand miles in total just to be at your door.
And for those who have no idea how far 1,000 miles is, 1,000 miles = 1,609 km. That is a greater distance than between Melbourne to Brisbane. And it would be a much further distance than between Sydney to Adelaide by hundreds of km. It is also a much greater distance than between Perth and Adelaide, Also a greater distance between the very bottom of Queensland to the very top of Queensland. This is quite literally how far a man would walk to be with the woman he loves. And I am sure like myself in the past many men in long distance relationships have thought or done this very thing before. Travelled hundreds, if not thousands of km to be with the one they love.
Why, because of love, This is how much love and devotion a man has for a woman, yet God has this love and by far much more greater love than this for both you and I. God has demonstrated his love by leaving his heavenly throne to live with us here, and to even die for you and I. A love every man has for his beloved wife and children.
Unfortunately like satan – many men and women think themselves higher authority than God to dismiss that which God created and ordained by His authority.
Unfortunately like everything sacred and blessed and ordained by God – it is trashed and defiled and destroyed by men and women everywhere – many think to put themselves above God and think themselves higher and mightier than God – they think they have the right to trash and destroy what God has created and blessed and sanctified.
Where does their authority come from ? Are they of higher authority and stronger than God to defy and defile that which God has created and blessed and, ordained & sanctified ?
I have learned in the past from different peoples experiences that no matter how much you may love and be devoted to your beloved, if they do not love you nor support you but only trash you and betray you to others and want to leave you regardless of how much you love them and devoted & committed to them in love and faithfulness, it will not and can not stop the other person betraying and leaving you if they choose to do so, and no matter how hard you try, if they always find fault ( even if all completely made up ) with you and leave. This for many is a hard thing and destroys lives. You can not stop them from doing what it is they are wanting to do, whether it goes against God or not.
There is that special bond that joins a man and a woman in the sacred union of marriage. One of the biggest commitments one could ever make, next to committing ones self to God almighty.
The Love that bonds Gods love through truth and faithfulness is the same love and bond that joins most men to the women they marry. We see the world over that men would do whatever it is for their wives, they will provide for them, love them, cherish them, protect them and do whatever it is to make them happy.
Just like how Scripture says in Nehemiah :8:10 The joy of the lord is my strength. The joy of the husband is seeing his wife happy, This is a blessing to a man to see his beloved wife & children happy, and the lengths just like our Lord and redeemer has gone to great lengths to bring us our salvation. Likewise a man will do what he can to bring joy and happiness to their beloved wife & children.
I was watching a non fiction tv show a few years ago about a man who was so in love with his wife and children he would go and do absolutely anything for his beloved family, however his wife some reason became so angry and bitter and violent towards him and his family, him just being in the same room, or even the same house or location would be enough to set her in a fit of rage of anger. It broke his heart.
There was so much love and devotion, and so much pain in his heart for what had happen to his wife, and the anger and hatred she had towards him for apparent no reason. So bad was the situation he ended up having to leave her, he ended up on the street, but she did not care, occasionally he would have visitation with his beloved daughter, however for the sake of his wife he would stay away.
She would say mean and nasty things to the children about him which were all lies. but he still loved her, yet he had to keep his distance from her for her own sake and her own happiness.
It was so incredible painful for him, years after the break up he would still think about her each day, and he still loved her so very much. He longed to be with her again, however the pain he had to endure by staying away to make sure she did not get enrage with anger when he was around.
The same is with our lord an redeemer, he will never force us to be with him or accept him – Luke 9:56, MAtthew 13:58, he longs so much to gather us all together in love and protect us all and provide for all of us, as described in Matthew 23:37. He longs to be our healer and restorer and to bless us abundantly with the desires of our heart ( The Fathers Love Letter ), however we were not willing, and many today are forsaking the blessings of being loved and cherished and supported.
God created man to rule over the earth and creatures of the earth, and the woman was provided to the man as a helper, however too many these days want to be worshipped and feared and forcefully obeyed, and dish out punishments if obedience and worship is not given.
However Love provides so much more.
Someone who loves you and cherish you just because you are you. To live in unity and peace, to be a blessing and provider. Life is hard, whether you are a male or a female, But God has provided a means through the sacred bonds of marriage for a husband to be there to love and support and protect his beloved wife, likewise for the woman to support and provide for the husband, not so much as slaves to one another, but someone who serves the other purely out of love and devotion.
Imagine as an example, someone needed to travel on public transport and they did not have a card for the train or bus. But the other one does. Without a second thought the one who has the card would give it to the one who needed, to provide for all of each others needs, and to be true and faithful to one another.
Just imagine someone who has decided they are going to devote the remainder and rest of their life devoted in the service of being there to love and support and cherish you in all that you do. A supporting hand always there to protect you and provide for you and do anything that is needed for you. This is the Husband / Wife God has prepared for you from the foundation of the world. Unfortunately too many these days desire to destroy this sacred bond.
Imagine looking across the table and there is someone you know and trust that in every single aspect of your life that they will ALWAYS be there to support you no matter what.
They will support you in your family life, as a Dad or a Mum, as a Husband or Wife, they will support you with your family duties, they will support you with your work life, they will support you with your travel needs, they will support you with your family, they will support you with your goals and dreams, they will support you in any pet projects you may have, they will support you with whatever desires it is that you have. They will support you in everything and anything, and they will never ask for anything in return – except your love and faithfulness and truthfulness and devotion.
Why ? because God ordained us to love and care and support and nurture and encourage and uplift one another. Tell the other person that they are loved, tell them they are beautiful, tell them they are cherished, tell them they done a good job, and not just telling, but showing their love through actions also.
The ideal sacred intimacy would be the true devotion to one another as found in Ephesians 5:20-33
God has such great love and grace to man, just as man has so much love and grace to his wife, as scripture says, He wants to bless us in abundance if you are willing.
And Nathan said to David, Thou art the man. Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul; And I gave thee thy master’s house, and thy master’s wives into thy bosom, and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that had been too little, I would moreover have given unto thee such and such things. Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the Lord, to do evil in his sight.
A man is even willing to give his life for his wife, just as God willingly gave his life for us, as scripture again says,
Greater love knows no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friend.
However a wife is much more than a friend, If a man would lay down his life for his friend, so much more would a man be willing for his wife. However most are not willing. as it says in Matthew 23:37 he was willing to nurture and take care of you and you were not willing. Matthew 13:58 And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
Many relationships break down because of lack of communication and willing to work together and communicate and acceptance of the other. Usually one or both are taking sides to fight kill and destroy one another, to dominate and punish the other to get the other to bend – break ad bow down to their deity type status. As oppose to how they would once before care and honour and respect and love one another.
As in the case of the prodigal son, the son takes everything his father willed for him and sold it and lievd a life according to his own wish and desires. He was ashamed of what he had done and ashamed before his own father. Thinking himself not worthy, thinking he will not take me back, I have shamed him too much. Thinking he had wasted all that his father had given him and had nothing to show for it. We all too often think this way, We all think, “I am not worthy of”” just like the prodigal son thought, however the thoughts of his own thoughts were not that of the reality of his father. His father was loving, his father was graceful, his father was compasionate, his father was full of love and mercy. And when the son returned to his father only expecting to be treated as nothing more than one of the lower servants. Nothing further could be from the truth, the father rush to be by his side, ashamed the son confessed his wrongs and seeked a pittance to be nothing but just a servant. Yet with tears down the fathers eyes and joy in the fathers heart to be his beloved son again he threw the biggest party ever and put on his son the glorious garment and a ring of his authority.
So too is it with each one of us, we each think we have done shameful things, mloved many years in rebellion and no longer worthy. We think we no longer worthy of his love, or his acceptance, or his mercies. We think we have done so much wrong for such a long time that he will never want to have us as apart of his kingdom, he would not want us to be apart of his life. But remember, this is in YOUR thoughts, not in the thoughts of the one who loves you so much, this is not in the thoughts of the one who was and is willing to give his life for you.
If you come back to your first love, your first true love, the one who loves you so much more than you could ever imagine, someone who is willing and wanting to bless you abundantly more than you could imagine, just like the prodigal son, because just because you are you.
You may think but how could he love me ? This is looking at it wrong.
Sometimes as in scripture says, they left for a time that he may be returned much more. Imagine if you had / have a son or a daughter, a husband or a wife, and you said dont do this or dont do that, and they did that which you said not to do. Or if you asked them to do this or do that, and they did not do that which you asked. Do you reject them ? do you kick them out ? do you leave them ? Do you have nothing more to do with them ? of cource not. Im sure each and every single one of you with a son or daughter or husband or wife has let you down multiple times but you have never left them.
It is the exact same with God, He will never leave you nor forsake you.
You may leave him, but he has never left you. He is the loving faithful father / husband you will always have, You could rebell against him for years and years, call him all sorts of evil wrong things, blasphemy and make all sorts of false claims and slander all around. But God is still waiting for you to come back to him. He will not force himself into your life against your will, though he will patiently wait for you to call him back into your life.
You may think or say, but who am I that God would notice or pay attention to me.
God knows how many hairs on your head and he intricatly knows how you are put together as he was the one who formed you in your mothers womb, he brought you out on the day you were born. He is the greatest love who is always waiting for you to come home with him and reside with him, for he is patiently waiting for you to call out to him to come be with him as your beloved God and king and father and husband, your greatest admirer.
Remember he waited 7 years for the king of babylon to come to his senses while he was in the wilderness. God is still waiting for you.
This is a love marriage relationship.
Each must cherish and care and support one another in mutual respect for one another, and not to dominate cohere or control as the case with many relationships.
This is not only in marriages, but also in family relations, and friends, church, school, work, social, or anywhere where people meet.
As the golden rule is, treat other people the same way that you would want them to treat you.
Eg, lets say your a vindictive narcissist sod, I’m not saying you are, I am using this as an example, so lets say someone is a wicked evil marcissist vindictive sod, and they want everyone to obey them and they want everyone to be scared of them and worship them as though they were a god. Well, if that is how they want others to treat them, then here is the clincher, they must treat other people in the exact same way, they should worship and be afraid of and obey other people in the same way they want others to treat them.
Likewise if you want someone to love you and cherish you and adore you and support you and so forth, then you should be willing to love – cherish – adore and support others.
Remember it must be in the confines of Gods righteousness, Eg, I know people who were married, then one divorces the other to have a relationship with someone else, and then married them. One may say well they are loving and cherishing and supporting their new partner. However this would and could not be blessed by God due to the scriptures saying this is an adulterous relationship and adulterous will be dammed. I am not passing judgement, but merely referencing scripture, and God is a God of love and grace and forgiveness. Though in forgiveness, also in scripture one must make right any known wrongs in their lives, Matthew 5:23-24.
Do you want someone to dominate you ?
Do you want someone to yell at you ?
Do you want someone to lie about you ?
Do you want someone to falsely accuse you ?
Do you want people to cook for you ?
Do you want people to praise you ?
Do you want people to help you ?
Etc etc and so forth, in all things, do these same things to other people.
And do it in love without expecting something else in return.
Luke 6:34-36 And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again. But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:
Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: Their feet are swift to shed blood: Destruction and misery are in their ways: And the way of peace have they not known: There is no fear of God before their eyes.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Though We know there are people who believe that this does not apply to them.
we all know the story of the Prodigal Son.
