God was always angry in old testament but love in new testament, although this argument which many claim is clearly false as love and mercy and grace was bestowed to Abraham Isaac and Jacob and the decedents.
Lying was a serious crime punishable by death, yet however these days lying is common practice, lying on tax returns, lying to business clients, lying to co workers, lying to husbands, lying to wives, lying to children.
But is lying all that serious ? millions of people love lying to their children all the time claiming santa will give them presents and he has a sleigh and reign deers etc, and there is a rabbit giving them chocolate eggs.
The list of lies and the people we all seem to lie to seems to be all so common and accepted and welcomed on all areas of human modern day lives, its fun they say, its apart of christianity, its socially acceptable, everyone does it, and all the other excuses and “justifications” as to why people believe we must and should continue lying to children and one another.
But what does God’ word say about lying ? how serious did Gods people really take lying ?
Lets look at 2 stories from the Bible, one from the old testament, and one from the new testament, God does not show partiality in testaments, infact he more harsh in the new testament than the old testament. Lets have a look.
But first lets look 2 verses in the Book of Revelations to see what the Bible says would happen to Liars.
Revelation 22:15
Without are the dogs, and the sorcerers, and the fornicators, and the murderers, and the idolaters, and every one that loveth and makes a lie.
Revelation 21:8
But for the fearful, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, their part shall be in the lake that burneth with fire and brimstone; which is the second death.
Now if you read the passage in the Old Testament 1 Samuel 31 & 2Samuel 1:1-16 you will see Saul and his 3 sons and his armor bearer, each one of these people fell on their own sword and died, killed themselves.
However an Amalekite brought report to David and his men that He killed Saul, and did not say Saul fell on his own sword.
So what happened is that David’s said to one of his men to strike him down, So one of Davids men struck him and killed him.
This man died for killing Saul, although he did not kill Saul, he lied and said he did, and because of his lie he was killed.
They did not kill him because he lied, but the consequences of his lie was he was killed.
He may have thought, If I lie to David and say I killed Saul, then perhaps I will be rewarded for killing Saul because Saul was always trying to kill David. Perhaps David will see this as good news that Saul is now dead and reward me because I killed his enemy. But because he lied, he died. If he had of told the truth that Saul fell on his own sword and died, also his 3 sons and shield bearer also fell on their own swords and died, he would not have been killed.
And
Acts of the Apostles Chapter 5:1-11 long after the birth – life – death – resurrection – instigation of Grace, we have a guy by the name of
Ananias and his wife Sapphira who sold land they had.
Ananias and his wife Sapphira are fully within their right to do whatever they want with their money, they could keep it all, or give away half and keep half, or give it all away, or buy something else with the money. 100% free to do whatever they want with their money without consequences.
Ananias and his wife Sapphira decided to keep half the money they sold the property to, and to give the other half to the Apostles, they both agreed to this. That alone is nothing wrong with it, they were allowed and lawfully allowed to do so without any consequences.
However when Ananias went to the apostles and gave the apostles the money he and his wife agreed to give the apostles, He claimed that the money that he gave them was the full price of what they sold the property for.
Once again possibly to gloat and boast as to say hey look how great we are, we gave everything we sold to the apostles, when infact it was only half the amount.
So when he went to the Apostles and laid the money at their feet for Gods ministry, Peter who was fully aware of this deception said to him, your not lying to just man but to God, he was lying to God that he sold the money for that amount when infact God knew he has keep half of it for himself.
The fact he kept half and only giving half was not a crime or anything wrong, Like Amalekite he lied what he had done, and for the lie itself, lying to God, this is why he died. And his wife also when she came and not realise what happen to her husband was given an opportunity to come clean and tell the truth by saying, this is only half, we gave half and kept half, which is perfectly fine, but she also tried to deceive the apostles and lie to God and say, this is everything we sold the property for, and for this lie she died right there and then.
So it is the fact of the lie that will cost the life of the Liar.
This is also another reason why the Holy Scriptures mentioned in a number of places what happens to liars.
So whether you lie to your family accusing them of something they never done, or lie about your self claiming you done something you have not done, or lie to your children, or on a tax return, or in business, or cheat on a school exam test, deceive a friend or in your giving, or lying about what the word of God really says or means. These lies can cost you your eternal life.
Remember Messiah says, Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
Matthew 7:22-23
You are not just lying to people, you are also lying to God.
Matthew 25:40
And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’
CBDC are on their way which will be linked to your vaccine status, where you will have a social credit score with programmable CBDC where you will not be able to buy or sell anything anywhere in the world without it. Banks are closing and steps are now being put in place to make cash illegal, there are now a few local business that 100% refuse any form of payment in cash or coins and only accept phone payments ( tap and go ). A few people who were at these shops who had the exact change in cash who were wanting to pay for something were threatened with having the police come and have them arrested for attempting to pay with cash. Yes this is really happening in 2023 / 2024.
