Can a mother forget ? Yes, she may forget the child / fruit of her womb.
How ?
Before we explain how, lets cast our minds back to when you and I were young children and we were in school. Remember when our teachers would take the class outside and we all would play sports, whether it be cricket or basketball or whatever team sport it would be.
The teacher would call out two students to be the team captains, and the rest of the class / group would line up on one side while the team captains would call out the names in turn who they wanted on their team.
Here is the thing, neither captain was obligated to pick you for their team. Neither captain had any requirement to choose to have you on their side. It all depended on the captain calling out your name
Imagine there is 2 captains, one captain who you liked and you wanted to be on their side / team. Then imagine that the other captain you did not like for whatever reason, whether it is they were mean to you or have a vendetta against you or picked on you.
The captain you wanted them to pick you to be on their side may not like you for one reason or another, or may not think your suitable for the position on their team, like going for a job interview and they think there is 6 other applicants who were better than you, so they would pick those applicants first.
Where as the captain you did not like thought picking you was an opportunity to have you in their clutches to pick on and annoy you.
Picture a scenario where there is 14 people, 2 are the team captains while they pick from the 12 remaining people one by one who is to be on which team. The good captain you are wanting starts calling out the names first, they get first pick. Which means the last person standing goes to the captain you did not like.
You wait one by one as each captain takes in turn of picking who they want on their team, your name is not called out and the remaining number dwindles, from 12 to 8 down to 6 then 4, then 3, your name still not called out. Neither captain is obligated to pick you.
Down to the last 3 means the captain gets the next name to call out, you stand there worried they going to call your name out, and worry that if he does not then the captain you are wanting has a 50/50 chance of picking the other person which means you have a higher chance of being with the captain you do not want to be with.
They are not obligated to pick you.
Why should they pick you ? What is it about you that would want them to pick you over the students that they did not pick.
What is it about you that would,
A) make the good captain pick you, and
B) what is it about you that would make the unfavoured captain NOT pick you ?
God is love and he loves you so much, just like a loving father with his beloved child, a beautiful wife ordained to his bride, and desires none to be lost.
But the sad fact of the matter is is that most will not make it, God is not obligated to choose you on his team, so what is it about your life and choices and character that would make him WANT to choose you.
Christians say, God is love and its all grace as Christ died on the cross for me and my sins and he saves us because of grace because of what his son done for me and that is why I am saved, and so forth. Yes these things all are true, however they are missing the fact Jesus said, many will say to me on that day lord lord did we not cast out demons in YOUR NAME, and in YOUR NAME do many wonderful things, and he said to them, Depart from me for I do not know you. He also said, MANY are called but only a few are chosen. He also said to the church goers, harlots are getting into the kingdom before you & not all who say to ME lord lord will be saved. But only a remnant will be saved.
Picture this, you go to a church on Sabbath and there is 80 people there, and down the road in another church there is 120 people, and on the other side of town on Sabbath morning there is as many as 200 people. Lets say in the city you live there is a 1,000 people going to church on each Sabbath morning in accordance to Gods Holy 10 commandments. They love their church and they love one another and so forth, BUT Jesus said, only a remnant will be saved.
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint, dill, and cumin and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. It is these you ought to have practiced without neglecting the others. Matthew 23:23
They were obeying the laws and commandments, they were doing everything right, they kept the 10 commandments, they were tithing in accordance to the law commandments, they were loving and supporting each other in their own church group and wider church community. But they were still “WOE” to them to Jesus, rejected.
They were neglecting the more important things of justice and mercy and faith, instead of just obeying the 10 commandments and the tithing and so forth, and this is why they were “WOE to you”.
Lets make sure we endeavour to all make sure we are not falling short and found wanting because we neglected the true matter of the law of truth – justice and mercy.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalms 139:14

Getting back to how can a mother forget the fruit of her womb.
Imagine you are a man from a far away rich and wealthy country, a place where you can get whatever you want, and whenever you want.
Imagine that the one you want is something you as yet do not have. Imagine the one you want is the heart of a woman you are very much in love with. Imagine this woman is a very attractive and beautiful woman from a far away distant country, a woman in a different land. Where she is does not have all the modern conveniences and luxuries that you have where you are.
Imagine you have such a great love and devotion to this woman that you went and visited her home country and lived with her family and community. Imagine where her community lives is all they have ever known. However the one you love so very much has experienced a taste of what it is like to be in the land which you are from, and it is your desire to spoil her so much with all the good things of the land where you come from.
You want to lavish on her the delights of her heart and live with her and share with her family all the wonders and beauty and wealth and prosperity of your home country.
Imagine that you went to her country and spent time with the beautiful woman who you love so very much and you met this womans family and friends and shared what it was like in your home country while at the same time experiencing life with her family in her family’s home and community.
Just imagine this mans love this woman so much that he would give whatever was needed to have her with him and by his side at his home country, and also welcomed all her family and friends to come live with him.
You are loved so very much and the one who loves you is waiting for you
Imagine that some came but others did not come. Imagine that the woman forgot about the mans love and started chasing lovers of her own and forgot about the man who brought her to his home country to enjoy the goodness of the land.
Just think that this woman went back to her home country without the man that loves her so very much, the man that gave her all the benefits and joys of life that come with being in his country. However she went back to her own country to live a life of hard ache and troubles and stress and pain.
Imagine her forgetting all about her first love and forgetting all about the love of the children of her womb.
The man has paid such a great price to bring her to his country and to have her by his side, only for her to break his heart and run away to be with another lover when it was him who brought her to the land flowing with milk and honey and all the delights she seeks and wanted.
Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me. Isaiah 49:15-16

Imagine someone loving you this much, imagine just like as in the Prodigal son parable and the Good Samaritan parable
This man loves you and longs for you so much with a great love, and you being away from him and sharing your love with another hurts him so much and he longs for you and is jealous over you , and he will always have you before his thoughts. He will never forget you and he longs for you so very much.
“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me. Isaiah 49:15-16
God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6
