About Us Page

We at word on wheels as of 2021 have been in the service industry for well over 25 years.

In that time we have worked on literally thousands and thousands of different products and services for people living around Australia. Dealing with thousands of people from all over Australia from different nationality backgrounds and different age groups from young children to people in their 90’s

Products and services we dealt with are wide and varied, from service and repair and installations of TV’s & DVD Players and Microwaves and home entertainment systems, to commercial retail products.

We also have done product investigation & evaluation & quality control. Dealing with manufacturers and importers, wholesalers & spare parts suppliers, retail & installers and customers, we have gained a wide range of experience of product design and quality, and customer service and expectations.

Time and time again we would come across certain products and services that were so questionable, we definitely would not want to have one of them items as our own, some were so very flimsy, others were a fire or fault only waiting to happen, while others we would like to have for our own.

Occasionally we would have friends and family asking us what would we recommend, or would we be able to fix something for them.

After many ears of dealing with sales people and service installers not doing right by their customers, sales people and installers cheating and doing extremely dodgy installations and doing things wrong, and charging people hundreds of $$$ for it, finally enough was enough.

No matter how many times we raise the issue of having sales people and installers properly trained on the products they sell and install so as to not have customers spend hundreds of $$ for things they should not have paid for or have installers who do not know what they are doing – install the wrong products in the wrong way causing the customers products not working because of incorrect installation.

Only to have the installer and sales person wash their hands of the situation because they have already got their money.

Not all sales staff or installers are bad and dodgy scammers, there are many good and quality sales and installers. But there are so many hundreds / thousands of cowboys out there basically thieving money from thousands of customers / victims all around Australia. People who do not know what they are doing / selling / installing, yet having customers pay hundreds of $$$ for products and / or installations.

In many cases even some retailers have VERY BAD staff members at one retail outlet, and another retail outlet of the same business would be a very good helpful staff members.

December 2019 to March 2020 – Corona-Virus

It was in November of 2019 we decided to create a presentation series of products and services, teaching and showing in a simple to understand way of how things work, what the differences in terminologies.  To ensure customers know their rights as consumers, and to ensure what the customer is wanting is what the customer gets. Not what the sales people want to sell to make another sale, or to just line some installers pocket and leave. And to learn and know some sales staff tricks to get you to buy one product over another.

After we had finished creating a few “Simplifying Modern Technology” seminars, we started to promote them to local places around the local area.

We had created a presentation with patrons and visitors able to have an outline of the presentation, as well as a question and answer session for anyones technical queries, or problems they had encounter.

However Coronavirus Lockdowns and closures of churchs, business, entertainment venues and pretty much of everything was locked down and closed which effectively put an end to the live presentation.

This although disappointing, has opened up another potential new way to present product reviews, Simplifying Modern Technology outreach to the wider community via our online presence at www..wordonwheels.com

This enables us to have an online presence 24 / 7 where you and anyone else in the world with internet access can gain access to our information, and where we can continually add new information on a regular basis where you can watch and read about at a time that is convenient for you, instead of having to go to a specific location on a certain time and date.

We will continue to present both on video and printed here educational tutorials of different technologies people use at home and in car, and other locations, also travel and home services.

Our product and services reviews will be based on our own personal experience and knowledge.

As Always, we advise prior to using any product that you make sure you read the manual of the products you purchase.

If the sales person claims the item you are looking at buying does anything, or claims that you must have some certain things if using the product, make sure they show you it in writing from the manufacturer that it is what they claim is actually true, and not just something they are saying themselves only to get you to buy that thing, because if it is NOT in the instruction manual, then its highly possible that what they are saying is NOT correct.Regardless how good or persuasive they may seem.

Make sure you only use the item according to the manufacturers specifications, and if you hire any services, make sure you have in writing what your service provider claims they will do.

We will make links to various different products and services for you to buy from – while presenting an independent evaluation of what we have ourselves experienced from these retailers we sow on Word On Wheels.com.

If there is any product or services that is so questionable or dodgy that we could not in clear conscience recommend in any shape way or from, we may write a review, or present a video about it, but we will not be linking anything to something we know for sure is a scam or dodgy product or service.

Just remember, although people at times may say, oh ill go contact ACCC, just remember ACCC is there for both the retailer and customer, there not only there to hit on a retailer as a customers anger revenge, there there just as much to protect retailers as wel as consumers.

Remember, eg, if a business advises that you need to install something, or turn something off for a certain period of time first before use, or whatever, and you refuse to do so, and then something goes wrong, ACCC will not necessarily be able to do anything for you.

Eg, if you buy a television and complain the tv has no channels and you have not plugged in the power cable or the antenna, and you complained to ACC about your TV not working, you may not get very far, infact it will fall back on you for not doing what the retailer or manufacturer had advised you to do.

Alternatively if the TV was not working, EG, buttons were not functioning, and the retailer manufacturer is not willing to do anything, then you may have a case to raise to the ACCC.

So if you have a product, or a service, or a business you know of which is not your own and which you are not connected to in some way – whether by family or friend, and you would like us to write and present an independent evaluation, then contact us via our Contact Us page, and we may interact with this business in one way or another, and may put a report about this business / product / service on our website here.

Just remember our reports will be our own personal opinions, it may not necessarily reflect what others have experienced, we may provide positive, or negative view within the report, or a neutral based on our experience and knowledge of the product / business / service.
