If God is a non existent thing, then why are they talking to nothing ? They would and should have absolutely nothing to fear, the person praying would be someone to pity. The praying person would have a mental problem having to talk to a nobody, talking to nothing – talking to thin air. Nothing to be offensive about, more pitied. Athiest and agnostics would have no issue or anything to fear and no offense taken to someone talking to themselves / to nothing.
If they are a same like minded believer praying to God, then again there would be no issue because they are all the same.
The only ones who could take offense are those who are hate God and are terrified that their deeds are evil and will be exposed and know that the person praying is talking to the most highest powerful creator in the entire universe and they do not want God to reveal their own evils and do not want to be accountable to their evilness, and therefore have to prevent people praying, and remove any possibility of God blessing other peoples lives and having their own evils revealed.
Why else would they be offended and so over reacting to someone praying to their God if their God is a non existent nothing figment of their imagination and just talking to thin air ? No offence.
